Springfield Builders, Inc. (SBI) was awarded the contract to construct the new OTC Table Rock Campus in Hollister, Missouri. The site construction started on December 19, 2011 and the building construction started on April 2, 2012. The project consisted of classrooms, science labs and administrative offices within a four story, 53,760 square feet building on a site of approximately 9.0 acres. The project included the in-fill of approximately 32,000 square feet. The fourth floor was finished as a large room for community group meetings, events and training. Approximately 50% of the third floor space is unfinished and available for future expansion. The construction schedule was aggressive with a substantial completion date of July 12, 2013 to allow for the start of fall classes on August 19, 2013.

SBI successfully met the expectations of Ozarks Technical Community College in all aspects of the project execution. The contractor's integrity and professionalism were a driving force from beginning to end. The project was completed to a high level of workmanship despite having to work through some slight weather delays. Springfield Builders pushed through the challenges to keep the project moving and implemented all measures of effort and priority to ensure that the project was complete on time. SBI worked closely with the owner and the architect to find creative solutions to field issues. The change orders for the project were held to an acceptable industry standard of below 5% of the total construction cost. Due to the effective cost management of the project, OTC was able to increase the scope of the project to finish out the fourth floor community room.

Springfield Builders, Inc. was an essential member of the OTC Table Rock Campus project team. Ozarks Technical Community College will include SBI as a contractor of choice for future construction management project opportunities.
